3-tab shingles are flat, uniform, and more affordable but offer less durability and wind resistance. Architectural (dimensional or laminate) shingles have multiple layers creating a textured appearance, offer superior wind resistance up to 210 km/h, and last significantly longer. We exclusively install architectural shingles for their superior performance.
While building codes may allow one layer of re-roofing, we recommend full tear-off for the best results. Removing old shingles allows inspection of the roof deck for damage, ensures proper underlayment installation, and prevents trapped moisture. A clean deck also means better warranty coverage.
